A Life with Little Ones...... I'll Never Figure It Out

A life with little ones can be unexplainable but I will try and give you a glimpse with words. Having children has projected a lot of negative sides to me and magnified them. Things such as allowing myself to get angry, impatient and frustrated.
Have you ever felt so overwhelmed that the surrounding events of that moment make you feel like you're going to either suffocate or explode?
No job, friendship, or responsibility will ever push you to the max like kids can.
They SCREAM AT THE TOP OF THEIR LUNGS in the middle of the library,
they PEE in their pants while you're shopping,
they make the biggest MESSES imaginable,
they SAY the unthinkable to the old lady at the grocery store standing in the line in front of you,
siblings TERRORIZE each other making you wonder if they'll ever see the age of 18,
they PUKE,
they SPILL,
they SNOT,
they DIG,
they FIGHT,
they YELL,
they POOP in places we don't want to talk about,
they WHINE,
they make your heart physically HURT for all the times you worry about them~~~
BUT there is one thing I do know. Their little lives bless you 100 fold!
"Behold Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward." Psalm 127:3
This is what else I know:
I'd NEVER want another life where they weren't in it!
the JOY they exude,
the PLAYFULNESS they embody,
the SMILES, HUGS, and KISSES they lavish,

their VOICES,
the way they SAY words,
the times you watch them peacefully SLEEPING,
their LAUGHTER,
include just a small portion of what makes your heart melt.....

Through all of this I realize the miracle of how God unites the unbreakable love you have for them that starts in the womb, which surpasses all of the times you feel helpless or hopeless as a parent.
He gives us HOPE:
"Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate." Psalm 127 4-5

Children bring a joy to your heart that makes the depths of your soul smile.
But even then Children were NEVER made to bear the burden of being a mirror to fulfill a parent's happiness, success, contentment, fulfillment, perfection lived out, and all the other worldly dreams that may get laid on them.
Only CHRIST can truly FEED THE HUNGER OF YOUR SOUL.
And when those burdens are lifted from a child's shoulders there is an overwhelming freedom to
ENJOY
RELAX
INSTRUCT
DISCIPLE
BE A REAL PARENT TO
BE INVOLVED
GUIDE
SPEAK INTO THEIR LIFE
PRAY FOR &
LOVE ON.
And in the midst of the times you may feel like throwing your hands in the air, you can CHUCKLE.
Trusting your child's life to the one that created them is truly the only way we can see his plan worked out on this Earth for you and the little one God blessed you with.
During those days I feel like my soul is lost, I REMEMBER
God has given me a mighty DEED.
